bathroom remodel completed in Modesto.

Ah, the ever so previously popular tiled in the tub with a step and carpet flooring. Stylish? Nope. Practical? Way too slippery! Carpet flooring in the bathroom? I think we all know the answer to that question (no, thanks). In this modern bathroom remodel, we replaced the tub area with a freestanding tub, updated the vanity with new paint and hardware, completely retiled the shower, installed new flooring throughout, applied new wall paint and more! Just take a look at the new shower walls– no more grout cleaning for these homeowners. Love the fresh, new look!

But don’t just take our word on how well this job turned out.  Look below for the project specifications and extensive before and after pictures!

Bathroom Remodel Day to Day Progress

(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner requested add-ons.)

Day 1 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, bath tile, and the old bathtub.

Day 2 –  Demolition continues! The electrical team began the wiring for the new lighting.

Day 3 –  The plumbing was modified and valves were replaced while the MSI Venitian Marble Blanco Perlato countertop was being fabricated offsite.

Days 4 & 5 – The bathCRATE team was back on site to patch and repair the sheetrock to prepare for the new freestanding tub.

Day 6 – The painters began to prepare and prime the vanity cabinets.  Using a high-grade, oil-based primer, every inch of the bathroom vanity cabinets were caulked, sanded and primed.  This is the first (and perhaps most critical) step of creating a durable paint finish. The painters then painted and distressed two coats of Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy paint in Elmer’s Echo to the thoroughly sanded and primed vanity cabinets.  This same priming and painting process was used on the doors and drawers, which are painted off-site in a climate-controlled paint booth for the highest possible quality.

Day 7, 8 & 9 – The tile team arrived to install the MSI Venitian Marble Blanco Perlato slab walls and tile at the shower.

Day 10 – The countertop installation team arrived to install the Kohler Caxton K-20000-0 Rectangular undermount sinks and the MSI Venitian Marble Blanco Perlato quartz countertop with a small radius edge. The same countertop material MSI Venitian Marble Blanco Perlato was used for the backsplash. The new Albrighton Acrylic Freestanding Tub bathtub was installed along with new shower head valves.

Day 11 & 12 – Bedrosians River Wood Porcelain tile flooring was installed in all areas of the bathroom, including the walk-in closet.

Day 13 – All of the walls and ceiling in the bathroom were painted with Kelly Moore’s Union Station and Swiss Coffee respectively.

Day 14 – The light and plumbing fixtures were installed. Price Pfister Pasadena LF-049-PDKK Widespread faucets at the sink and a Price Pfister Pasadena 8P8-PDKK in the shower, both with brushed nickel finishes.

Day 15 – New semi-frameless door with the inline panel was installed by our glass installation team.

Day 16 – The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the freshly painted cabinet doors and drawers. The mirrors and accessories were installed and the bathroom was cleaned of all construction debris and dust.
