Job Description:
- Report directly to the VP of Operations, helping develop and implement short and long-term goals for this new location.
- Interact with the local community, helping spread the CRATE brand throughout the region, develop critical relationships and become a valued part of the Sacramento region.
- Conduct in-home consultations with potential customers 3-5 times a week, listen and understand their project needs, measure and photograph the project, and generate detailed job walk notes.
- Conduct in-home proposal meetings with customers 3-5 times a week, presenting detailed project proposals and professionally addressing all objections preventing them from moving forward with their project.
- Conduct interior and cabinet design meetings with customers 1-2 times a week, partnering with the CRATE designers to translate the customer’s ideal project into a detailed specification.
- Meet with the sales team weekly to grow, learn, and strategize together in a supportive, challenging environment.
- Hand-off projects to the CRATE Project Management team, setting them up for great success during construction.
- Work with CRATE suppliers to specify necessary project materials and fixtures.
- Work alongside the CRATE recruiting team to identify potential candidates, conduct interviews, and proceed through the hiring process.
- Please note: While our company is closed on the weekends, this position will require work outside of “typical business hours” on a fairly regular basis. Please do not apply if you are unable to meet this requirement.
Required Qualifications:
- Reside in the greater-Sacramento area. Relocation assistance provided as needed.
- Know how to sell. And not the unnatural, “used-car salesman” method of selling, but the selling where you get to know your customer’s needs and do EVERYTHING in your power to meet their needs.
- It would be best if you are organized. Highly organized. If people around you always tell you how organized you are, you are just the person we need.
Understand residential construction materials and methods. - Be a driven self-starter. After training, you’ll have a high level of autonomy to grow this new location, so making things happen of your own accord is a must.
- Experience in recruiting and hiring, including conducting interviews, checking references, negotiating terms of employment, and other related activities.
- Be able to take direction, constructive criticism, and work as part of a team.
- Love to make people smile. You’ll be dealing directly with clients and fellow team members on an hourly basis. You’ll be an ambassador of our brands, and therefore must represent CRATE well!
- Be willing to spend weekdays at our corporate office in Salida during the initial training period.
Greatly Desired Qualifications:
- Possess excellent written communication skills.
- Possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Have impeccable time-management skills.
- At least five years of experience in service (not retail) sales, ideally in the home improvement industry.
- General knowledge of the building industry from a contractor, designer, or engineering perspective.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM software or the ability to learn.
- Ability to learn new computer software.
Compensation:
Base salary plus performance-based compensation contingent upon experience. Total salary plus performance-based compensation opportunities should exceed $150,000 per year as you grow your division.
