We are extremely thrilled with how wonderful this Livermore kitchen remodel turned out! The homeowner, along with our designer and team, made wonderful changes to this kitchen, specifically at the countertop and upper cabinets. At the countertop, old tile and backsplash were completely swapped out for a leveled surface (no more raised bar top) with new quartz and a marble backsplash. I especially like how the countertop quartz color pulls in color from the backsplash, appliances and pendant lighting as well as helps break up the white between the upper and lower cabinets. The newly painted and installed glass cabinets are also a nice feature in that they allow the kitchen to feel more airy and open. Lastly, the new range and hood are simply perfect for this space; they are not too small nor not too big and offer a nice focal point to space. Beautiful!

Day by Day Progress in Livermore, CA
(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-request add-ons, like these.)
Here’s how we did it:
Day 1 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust by protecting the path from the entry door to the kitchen with building paper and then went to town removing the appliances, countertops, backsplash, plumbing fixtures, cabinet doors and drawers. We also reinforced the plywood sub-tops with steel straps to support the new quartz counters. Toward the end of the day we created the template for the new quartz countertops, which take a few days to fabricate off-site.
Day 2 – On this day, our team focused on customer-specific cabinet modifications such as installing glass doors and lowering the bar counter to cabinet counter height. We also removed a bank of cabinets along the wall in the dining room, allowing for additional space.
Days 3 & 4 -The electrical team began the wiring for the new pendant lights above the newly modified bar counter. The existing can lights were replaced with new LED recessed light fixtures.
Days 5 & 6– The painters then began refinishing the kitchen cabinets in this Livermore home. Two coats of Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy semi-glass paint in Acoustic White were applied to the thoroughly sanded and primed cabinets. This same priming and painting process was also used on the doors and drawers, which are painted off-site in a climate-controlled paint booth for the highest possible quality.
Days 7 & 8 – The walls and ceiling in the kitchen also received a fresh coat of paint. Kelly-Moore paint with an eggshell finish was applied to the walls and the ceiling to match the owner’s existing colors.
Days 9, 10 & 11 – The countertop installation team arrived to install the beautiful Blanco Precis Silgranit super single bowl in Anthracite. Arizona Tile Leather quartz countertops were installed with a small radius edge detail. The tile backsplash artisans were on site to install the Bedrosians Calcatta Oro 3″ x 6″ marble tiles on the backsplash. The backsplash was grouted using Laticrete Bright White grout.
Days 12 & 13- At our customers’ request, our team replaced the fireplace tile in this lovely home (picture not shown).
Days 14, 15 & 16 – Lastly, the kitchenCRATE team installed the homeowner’s appliances. The transformation then hit the home stretch with the installation of the freshly-painted cabinet doors and drawers. The final day of the project included an array of “touch-up” items: all outlets and switches were replaced, the plumbing fixtures were installed and the entire project was cleaned of all construction debris.
