Revitalizing a Shower Space: A Stunning bathCRATE Lite Remodel in Modesto

That’s where kitchen & bath CRATE steps in with it’s newest product line: bathCRATE Lite. BathCRATE Lite is kbCRATE’s response to the “one-day bath” phenomenon of the last decade. But instead of a cheap, tile-simulating acrylic wall finish, bathCRATE Lite uses engineered stone walls. That’s right, the same type of material used in the most luxurious of homes.
This project, a bathCRATE Lite remodel, focused exclusively on upgrading the shower, giving these Modesto homeowners on History Way a modern, refreshed, and functional focal point for their bathroom.

Shower Surround
The existing shower surround was replaced with sleek engineered marble in Iridium Gray. This luxurious material not only enhances the bathroom’s aesthetics but also provides a durable, easy-to-clean surface. Extending up to 86 inches in height, the new surround adds a sense of spaciousness and elegance to the shower.The original bathroom’s cabinets were a relic of the past, contributing to an overall dated feel. The remodel preserved the solid wood cabinet material but introduced a significant upgrade with the Amerock Westerley 3 3/4″ Cabinet Pull hardware. The euro soft-close hinges ensured that every drawer and door closed smoothly and quietly, adding a touch of modern luxury. The maple material, reused for door and drawer faces, maintained the natural charm while integrating new toeskins and baseboard specifications that matched the rest of the home’s style.
Storage Solutions
A well-designed shower should be as functional as it is beautiful. This remodel included a 30-inch-wide shower niche, centered on the long wall, providing ample space for storing toiletries. The niche’s streamlined design ensures practicality without compromising the clean, modern look of the shower.
Fixtures
The shower fixtures were updated with the Delta Ashlyn Monitor 17 Shower Trim featuring an In2ition hand shower in Brilliance Stainless. This dual-function fixture combines a luxurious rain shower experience with the convenience of a handheld showerhead. The brushed stainless finish complements the overall design, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal.
Shower Base
The old, outdated shower base was replaced with a PROFLO Hammond 60-inch by 32-inch shower base in classic white. Its centered drain ensures optimal water flow, while its modern design enhances the overall look of the shower.
Safety Features
Safety is a key consideration in any remodel, and this project was no exception. Two Delta Traditional Grab Bars, measuring 12 inches and 24 inches, were installed in Brilliance Stainless to provide added support and safety.
Pairing with this is a Moen Home Care Stainless and Teak Folding Shower Seat to provide extra stability, comfort, and style for the homeowners. A shower seat goes a long way in creating a safe and comfortable shower experience without sacrificing the overall aesthetic of the space. These features are subtly integrated into the design, ensuring they don’t detract from the shower’s sleek appearance.
Shower Doors
To complete the transformation, a semi-frameless dual-bypass shower door with brushed nickel trim was installed. Featuring rain glass panels, the door provides privacy while allowing light to filter through, contributing to the shower’s bright and open feel. Additionally, the glass was treated with EnduroShield coating, making it resistant to stains and easy to maintain.
