The kitchen is often the heart of the home, and in this remodel, we aimed to create a space that was both aesthetically pleasing and practical. The previous kitchen had worn cabinets, outdated fixtures, and a lack of modern conveniences. Our goal was to turn this space into a beautiful and functional gathering area.

Cabinets and Hardware

We started by replacing the old cabinets with brand new, custom-made Shaker-style cabinets crafted from white oak. The soft-close hinges and drawer glides enhance usability, ensuring a smooth and quiet operation. The cabinets are complemented by Amerock Blackrock Satin Nickel hardware, adding a touch of elegance and functionality.

Countertops

For the countertops, the homeowner chose Macaubas Fantasy Quartzite, known for its striking veining and durability. Polished to a glossy finish, this material brings a sophisticated look while being practical for everyday use. The countertop edges were mitered to provide a seamless appearance, and it flows beautifully into the island area, where family and friends can gather.

Sinks & Faucets

A spacious Blanco Precis Silgranit undermount sink was installed, offering a generous single bowl that’s perfect for washing large pots and pans. Paired with the Kohler Simplice faucet, this combination provides both style and functionality, making kitchen tasks easier and more enjoyable.

Appliances

In terms of appliances, we retained the existing oven and refrigerator while upgrading to a Bosch Super Silence dishwasher, known for its quiet operation. The Bosch cooktop integrates seamlessly into the design, and the updated exhaust hood adds a modern touch above the cooking area, enhancing the kitchen’s overall functionality.

Fixtures and Lighting

We installed recessed lighting with a daylight glow to brighten the entire kitchen, complemented by under-cabinet lighting that highlights the beautiful backsplash. The backsplash features Kaikos Light Green tiles in both rectangle and chevron patterns, creating a fresh and vibrant look that ties the design together.

Paint and Finishes

Finally, the cabinets received a fresh coat of paint in SW 7570 Egret White, with an accent island painted in SW 7604 Smoky Blue, bringing depth and character to the space. The vaulted ceilings enhance the feeling of openness, making the kitchen feel even larger and more inviting.
