With so many advancements with phones, televisions, and cars, it’s about time to consider bringing smart devices into the home, in particular, your bathroom. Incorporating smart devices into your bathroom will not only help you become more efficient with time (self-cleaning toilet, anyone?) but also a nice level of luxury in your home. From mirrors to faucets to toilets, here are some modern elements to consider if you’re upgrading your bathroom.

1. Viio Mirrors
I’m starting off this post by hitting a home run with this one– Viio Mirrors. This is not just any mirror. This mirror contains LED light that brightens up your face (no harsh shadows), Bluetooth speakers (yes! jam out during your morning routine!), and wifi calling capabilities. Plus, it has anti-fog capabilities! This mirror (Vezzo pictured) is great for the bathroom but can be mounted anywhere. If there’s no plug nearby, it can still operate on batteries. There’s also a long rectangular shape and a circle shape if you have a preference. Learn more about it here. Want a mirror that also has a built-in tv? Those are available too but, I’m going to warn you, they are pretty pricey.
Below is a mirror we installed at a bathCRATE project in Modesto. Looks great!
2. Radiant Flooring
This is not a new luxury item but it is often overlooked. Do you have cold feet? Do you feel like you often need to wear socks in the winter or cover your whole bathroom floor with rugs? If you plan to redo your floors, an easy upgrade has a heating element installed before your tile. Get a system that has a Wifi thermostat so it can learn weather patterns to change temperature or so you can adjust the schedule right from your phone. As an example, check out here!

3. Fitbit Aria Wifi Scale
Are you a Fitbit wearer? If so, this Aria scale is a great addition to your bathroom. It will help you (and your family if they are FitBit wearers too) keep track of your progress. Aside from its functionality, it has a nice sleek design that would look great in any bathroom. Find out more at fitbit’s website.
4. Bathtub Upgrades
There are so many cool, innovative features that are offered in bathtubs that it seems that the sky is the limit! For instance, we installed the above tub at a bathCRATE project in Livermore. What makes this bathtub so special is that it has its own thermostat to keep the water warm. How awesome is that? You can also get tubs with jets, mood lighting (chromatherapy), music, etc. Find out more at Kohler.
5. Smart Toilets
Let’s face it, toilets are pretty important. Sure, they aren’t much to look at, but when you want it to work, it better work. Today, toilets have a lot of great upgrades that can add some nice functionality and value to your bathroom. For instance, as seen in the toilet above (from a bathCRATE project), you can choose between a small flush or a large flush to help conserve water by using the button on top (no handle). There are also toilets that have heated seats, overflow protection, air purifiers, air deodorizers, dryer, soft-close lids, built-in music players, remote controls for opening/closing lid, automatic self-cleaning, etc. Unfortunately, these cool features often come with a high price tag, but hey, who doesn’t want a built-in music player? Read why it can be beneficial to upgrade your toilet here.
