Let’s face it, this early 1990’s bathroom was tired and old and was in need of a major makeover. In just as little as two weeks, our team was able to come in an transform this bathroom by giving it a whole new feel! The new shower tile incorporates bronze tones to compliment the new shower fixtures. The mosaic tile in the shower along the walls and floor provide a natural, spa-like mood. These shower design elements were then paired with the sink and countertop to give it a cohesive pairing. Not only does this bathroom now look contemporary but it looks bigger too!

The Homeowner’s bathCRATE Experience
What was your favorite part of the bathCRATE process?
I have to say the experience with bathCrate was much more than we expected. Start to finish the schedule was followed exactly. From design, construction and finish we are 100% satisfied.
What was your favorite part about the bathCRATE team?
I cannot express my thanks to the crew enough, they are all FIRST RATE, always keep you up to date on the progress. At the end of each day the house was cleaned before leaving, don’t see that often. On the first day, I could not believe the size of the crew that showed up just to tear out two bathrooms, amazing.
Any advice for someone interested in using kitchen and bath CRATE for their next project?
My only advice to anyone entering into a project is being prepared, it will be over before you know it.

Bathroom Day by Day Progress
(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-request add-ons.)
Day 1 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, vanity, shower and bath tile, the bathtub and the flooring.
Days 2 – The electrical team began the wiring for the new lighting while the plumbing at the shower/tub was reconfigured for the new walk-in shower.
Day 3 – The bathCRATE team was back on site to patch and repair the sheetrock and the shower pan liner was installed.
Day 4– All of the walls and ceiling in the bathroom were painted. Kelly-Moore Graystone with a satin finish was applied to the walls and the ceiling was painted in Kelly-Moore Whitest White.
Day 5– The countertop installation team arrived to install the Kohler Caxton sink in White and the Bedrosians Crema Bordaux granite with a bullnose edge.
Days 6 & 7 – The tile artisans were on site to install the shower tile and vanity backsplash tile. Emser Alchemy Copper 12″ x 24″ porcelain tiles were installed on the shower walls and Bedrosians Hemisphere Henna Red sliced pebble mosaic tiles were installed at the vanity backsplash, shower accent and shower floor. The shower wall tile was grouted using Laticrete Espresso grout and the floor and accent tile was grouted using Ardex Coffee Bean grout.
Days 8 & 9 – The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the new Pfister Pasadena widespread faucets and the Pfister Marielle shower trim. The final day of the project included an array of “touch-up” items: all outlets and switches were replaced, the mirrors, accessories and new semi-frameless shower glass were installed and the bathroom was cleaned of all construction debris and dust.
