bathroom renovation.

In just two weeks, this dated bathroom turned into a modern bathroom oasis! We can’t get over the new walk-in shower with its use of large tile and pebble flooring. New floors, cabinet and wall paint, new countertop– we just love how all these new elements play so well together to give this space not only a well-polished look but a calm, relaxing feeling.

But don’t just take our word on how well this bathroom renovation in Modesto turned out. Look below for the project specifications and extensive before and after pictures! Check out this kitchen remodel we completed for the same customer!

Bathroom Day by Day Progress

(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-request add-ons.)

Day 1 – Demo Day!  On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, vanity, shower and bath tile, the bathtub and the flooring.

Days 2 –  The electrical team began the wiring for the new lighting while the plumbing at the shower/tub was reconfigured for the new walk-in shower.

Day 3 – The bathCRATE team was back on site to patch and repair the sheetrock and the shower pan liner was installed.

Day 4– All of the walls and ceiling in the bathroom were painted. Kelly-Moore Fossil with a satin finish was applied to the walls and the ceiling. The trim was painted in Kelly-Moore Swiss Coffee.

Day 5, 6, & 7– The tile artisans were on site to install the shower tile. Bedrosians Maxtrix Azul 12″ x 24″ porcelain tiles were installed on the shower walls and Bedrosians Hemisphere Fatima Cream  tiles were installed on the shower floor. The entire shower was grouted using Laticrete Smoke Grey grout.

Days 8 & 9 – The flooring team was on site to install the new flooring.  Bedrosians Maxtrix Azul 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile flooring was installed throughout the bathroom.

Day 10 – The countertop installation team arrived to install the Kohler Archer sink in White and the polished  Statuario quartz with a mitered edge and 8″ backsplash.

Days 11 & 12 – The painters began preparing and priming the vanity cabinets.  Using a high-grade, oil-based primer, every inch of the bathroom vanity cabinets were caulked, sanded and primed.  This is the first (and perhaps most critical) step of creating a durable paint finish. The painters then applied two coats of Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy paint in Cathedral Stone to the thoroughly sanded and primed vanity cabinets.  This same priming and painting process was used on the doors and drawers, which are painted off-site in a climate-controlled paint booth for the highest possible quality.

Day 13 – The light and plumbing fixtures were installed. A Pfister Pasadena widespread faucet at the sink and a Pfister Comtempra shower trim in the shower, both with brushed nickel finishes.  On this day a new frameless shower glass door was also installed

Days 14– The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the freshly painted cabinet doors and drawers. The bathroom was then cleaned of all construction debris and dust.
