The Homeowner’s bathCRATE Experience
What was your favorite part of the bathCRATE process?
What was your favorite part about the bathCRATE team?
Favorite part of the team was how friendly, helpful and professional bathCRATE employees are. Willie was clear in communicating the scope of work and costs, the designer was appropriately directive and supportive in our selection process, Jake and his team were polite, respectful of us, our property and our requests.
Was there anything about the process or project that surprised you? If so, what was it?
Pleasantly surprised at how much the bathCRATE team wanted us to be completely happy with our completed bathroom.

Bathroom Day by Day Progress
(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-request add-ons.)
Day 1 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, vanity, shower and bath tile, the bathtub and the flooring. On this first day, we installed the new Kohler Bellwether bathub.
Day 2 – The electrical team began the wiring for the new lighting and the new shower and tub valves were installed.
Day 3 – The bathCRATE team was back on site to patch and repair the sheetrock.
Day 4– All of the walls and ceiling in the bathroom were painted. Kelly-Moore Baby Barn Owl with a satin finish was applied to the walls and Whitest White on the ceiling.
Days 5, 6, & 7– The tile artisans were on site to install the shower tile. Bedrosians Matrix Bright 12″ x 24″ porcelain tiles were installed on the shower walls. Bedrosians Elume Mosaic Heather Grey was used as an accent tile. The entire shower was grouted using Laticrete Light Pewter grout.
Day 8 – The countertop installation team arrived to install the Kohler Archer sink in White and the White quartz with a small radius edge and 6″ backsplash in Bedrosians Elume Mosaic Heather Grey.
Day 9 – The flooring team was on site to install the new flooring. Bedrosians Maxtrix Bright 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile flooring was installed throughout the bathroom.
Day 10 – The painters began preparing and priming the vanity cabinets. Using a high-grade, oil-based primer, every inch of the bathroom vanity cabinets were caulked, sanded and primed. This is the first (and perhaps most critical) step of creating a durable paint finish. The painters then applied two coats of Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy paint in Distant Thunder to the thoroughly sanded and primed vanity cabinets. This same priming and painting process was used on the doors and drawers, which are painted off-site in a climate-controlled paint booth for the highest possible quality.
Day 11 – The light and plumbing fixtures were installed. A Pfister Pasadena widespread faucet at the sink and a Pfister Pasadena shower trim in the shower, both with brushed nickel finishes.
Day 12– The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the freshly painted Cimino’s Shaker style cabinet doors and drawers. The mirrors and accessories were installed and the bathroom was cleaned of all construction debris and dust.
