Our second bathCRATE project is complete and we’re excited to show you not one, but two fully renovated bathrooms!
Renovating two bathrooms in a two-bathroom home certainly has its challenges. Primarily, each day we were at work is a day the customer had to be inconvenienced. Our crews used this as motivation to keep the project on schedule and produce a product worth the wait.
Our favorite part of this project was seeing the amazing transformation of these two rooms. Everything from the custom quartz tops to stand-alone vanities to full-height tile surrounds made this bathroom simply unrecognizable. And two bathrooms in 9 days? Well, we’re kind of proud of that too…
Scroll down to hear what the homeowner thought of the process and see before & after pictures for both rooms!
The Homeowner’s Bathroom Remodeling Experience
When we told our friends and family that we were remodeling not just one, but TWO bathrooms at the same time, they all looked at us like we were nuts. We trusted the bathCRATE team to get it done on time and we were not disappointed! Even though the scope of the project stretched from the front door through the master bedroom, we were pleased by how respectful of our space and privacy the crew was. Every subcontractor that came into our home was trustworthy and respectful, they even answered questions and explained the process to our child with patience and kindness. With this level of professionalism and customer service not to mention expert craftsmanship, if we had to do it again, we would go with Scott and the bathCRATE team in a second!
The amount of input we had over the process, even during the process was fantastic. From the beginning until the final day, there was never a point where we felt as though we were being pressured to settle for anything less than exactly what we wanted.
It was all handled so professionally, from the initial meeting to the final walk-through. There was never a time where we had to wonder what was happening, the bathCRATE team was responsive and communicated every step of the way.
When we discovered the damage to the Master bathroom was much worse than we first anticipated, we were pleasantly surprised by the fact that the crew went above and beyond to keep our project on track. When Scott told us that it would be done in 10 days, we believed him, but quietly worried that something would come up and it would take longer. It wasn’t done in 10 days… it was done in 9 days! The crew worked tirelessly to get it done, and with a smile!
Thank you Scott and Jared for your hard work and fantastic customer service!
The Hall Bathroom Day by Day Progress
(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-requested add-ons and an additional bathroom.)
Here’s how we did it:
Day 1 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, wall tile, flooring, tub and cabinet boxes. Toward the end of the day, we created the template for the new quartz countertops, which take a few days to fabricate off-site.
Day 2 – Installed the Kohler Villager bathtub in white, repaired water damage discovered after demolition, and replaced the greenboard and shower valve.
Day 3 – The bathCRATE team textured the walls.
Day 4 – The walls and ceiling were painted with Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy paint. Crackling Lake was applied to the walls and Whitest White was applied to the ceiling.
Days 5 & 6 – The team at AAI Granite & Tile arrived to install the Bedrosians Roma Noce 6.5 x 6.5 tiles in the shower with an accent strip of Bedrosians Newport Coast glass mosaic tiles . This was grouted with Laticrete Antique White grout.
Day 7 – AAI was back on site to install the Bedrosians Roma Noce 13″ x 13″ tiles with Laticrete Antique White grout to the bathroom floor.
Day 8 – The Collingwood 60″ x 21″ Natural Traditional vanity was installed and AAI installed the two new Kohler Caxton undermount sinks in white and the MSI Quartz countertop.
Day 9 – The plumbing fixtures were installed. The shower received a beautiful new Pfister Avalon tub and shower fixture with a brushed nickel finish while the sinks received new Pfister Avalon widespread faucets with brushed nickel finishes. The final day of the project included an array of “touch-up” items: all outlets and switches were replaced, the toilet was re-set, the lights, fan, and mirror were installed and the entire project was cleaned, top-to-bottom.
