The Homeowner’s Bathroom Remodel Modesto Experience
What was your favorite part of the bathCRATE process?
The whole process was great! It was easy for us to design the kitchen & bathrooms we wanted. You were honest and up front if things would be pricey additions. You were willing to work around our schedule.
What was your favorite part about the bathCRATE team?
The genuine care that was taken in our remodel. You see the horror stories on HGTV, etc. when people promise fast renovations. Your team was efficient, knowledgeable, and took genuine care in our project.
Was there anything about the process or project that surprised you? If so, what was it?
Nothing really surprised us other than the beauty of our new kitchen and bathrooms. We love everything about our decision. The price was doable, Jared and Aaron really took time to make sure we got exactly what was best for remodel. The design team really made everything easy to pick out!

Day by Day Progress
(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-requested add-ons and an additional bathroom.)
Here’s how we did it:
Day 1 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, shower tile, and flooring. Toward the end of the day we created the template for the new quartz countertops, which take a few days to fabricate off-site.
Day 2 – The plywood subtops were reinforced in, the drywall was repaired, and shower valve was installed.
Day 3 – Since all the walls and the ceilings had been protected, our painters began preparing and priming the cabinets. Using a high-grade, oil-based primer, every inch of the bathroom vanity cabinets were caulked, sanded and primed. This is the first (and perhaps most critical) step of creating a durable paint finish.
Days 4 – The painters then applied two coats of Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy paint in Batwing to the thoroughly sanded and primed vanity cabinets. This same priming and painting process was used on the doors and drawers, which are painted off-site in a climate-controlled paint booth for the highest possible quality.
Day 5 – The painting team was back on site. Kelly-Moore paint in Townhouse Taupe was applied to the walls and the ceiling was touched-up.
Day 6 – The tile artisans were on site to install the Bedrosians Rok Nero 13″ x 20″ porcelain tiles with an accent of Bedrosians Manhattan Battery Park glass and stone blend tiles on the shower walls. Bedrosians Hemisphere Kona Sands polished pebbles were installed on the shower floor. This was grouted using Laticrete Raven grout.
Day 7 – The countertop installation team arrived to reinstall the homeowner’s previous sinks. Life Quartz Startz Stone quartz countertops with a bullnose edge were installed with Bedrosians Manhattan Battery Park glass and stone blend tiles on the backsplash.
Day 8 – The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the freshly painted doors and drawers, plumbing fixtures, mirrors, and accessories. Pfister Avalon shower fixtures in Tuscan Bronze were installed in the shower. Liberty 3″ Arched pulls in Oil Rubbed Bronze were installed on the freshly painted cabinet doors and drawers. The final day of the project also included an array of “touch-up” items: all outlets and switches were replaced, the new Kohler Highline toilet was set, the shower door was installed and the entire project was cleaned, top-to-bottom.
