Based on the 750 or so potential customers I screen each year, I’d guess “fear of the long remodel project” to be the biggest factor in people delaying a renovation.
Perhaps you feel similarly: you’re just unsure if you can get through a remodel project that goes longer than expected.
There seem to be a few factors around this very reasonable apprehension. Here are the main time-related concerns we hear from potential customers:
- Remodels are disruptive to family life and long remodels get exponentially more disruptive by the day.
- A remodel with an unknown duration makes planning life events (hosting, vacations, holidays, kid events, etc.) very frustrating.
- A feeling of helplessness if a job goes too long and they don’t have any recourse.
- Embarrassment of mentioning to friends and family that “yes, the remodel still isn’t finished…”
We’re well aware of these pain points for customers. Here’s how CRATE helps ease customers’ minds and make sure they don’t deal with delayed projects:
- Our project managers provide a detailed, day-by-day project schedule to customers weeks before the project begins. This allows customers to track their project during construction.
- We offer a $250-per-day project completion guarantee. This means that for any working day your project goes long, we credit $250 on the final invoice. This really should be industry standard. I mean, why would a contractor not stand behind their finish date?
- We order all project materials well before the job starts, and we avoid starting a renovation until all materials are on-hand. This avoids the all-too-typical delay because “we’re waiting on your [insert material] to arrive…”
- The CRATE itself is a huge storage container filled with an assortment of project materials and equipment. This allows us to have a mini-Home Depot right on site and drastically reduces inefficient off-site trips.
As you can see, we take the timing of our projects VERY seriously. Why? Because what’s important to you is important to us!
But don’t just take my word for it. Here is a video testimonial from Doug and Jodi from kitchenCRATE Custom Summertree Drive telling you about their neighbor’s experience with CRATE’s timeliness:
