“Hey, everybody, Scott Monday with Kitchen and Bath Crate. This is one of my favorite times of the year because I get to present to you the top five kitchen crates of 2020. I’m really excited about the portfolio of kitchen remodels we were able to accomplish in 2020, and I think you’re going to be amazed at just the really wide range of project types, finishes, layouts, all of those types of things. So, let’s jump in, and we’ll go in reverse order for you to build anticipation.
Coming in at number five is Kitchen Crate Custom Nantucket Place in Modesto. Now, this is one of the most modern projects that we’ve completed to date. A couple of things I want to point out about this job. Number one, it’s just a really great use of space. The old kitchen used to be kind of shoehorned into a corner of this overall area, and now it actually extends out into the adjacent family room. These are all custom cabinets fabricated here locally, and they’re a frameless or Euro construction style. So, really sleek look, flat faces, push-to-open hardware, all the bells and whistles on this project. The last thing I want to mention is the countertops on this project. It’s actually a two-tone countertop configuration. On the perimeter is a Silestone Pietra Suede quartz countertop, and the island is topped with a high-gloss navy blue quartz as well. So, there you go, that’s number five, Kitchen Crate Custom Nantucket Place in Modesto.
Coming in at number four, Kitchen Crate Stonewood Drive in Brentwood. This is another gorgeous project from 2020. Let me highlight just a few things for you. First of all, the stainless steel farmhouse sink. It’s actually a Kraus 30-inch apron front stainless steel sink. Stainless steel is a great product, really has a patina to it after a few years of use, and the farmhouse style is just a really good meshing of those two different styles. Beautiful countertops on this project, the Bedrosians Bianco Venatino quartz, and the backsplash is also gorgeous in a Bedrosians Pure Stone Wall Tile in Grigio. Last but not least, above the cooktop area is a herringbone pattern that just really adds some visual interest to this backsplash area. Now, coming at number three, Kitchen Crate Custom Spartan Place in Brentwood. This is another custom cabinet project. As you can see, the layout is somewhat similar but definitely some new elements to this kitchen. First of all, these custom cabinets were fabricated locally by Fulton Custom Cabinets, as are all cabinets in the Kitchen Crate Custom line. Now, the coffee bar is a really nice addition to this project; you can see how it adds some immense function to the space. The layout and the flow of this area is much improved, and the customer specifically pointed out liking the fact that things are just now located in the spot where she actually wants them. The countertops are gorgeous; they are Bedrosians White Macaubas quartzite, which is a natural stone, and it’s topped with kind of this cool, shimmery Bedrosians Chloe White wall tile. So there you go, that’s number three, Kitchen Crate Custom Spartan Place in Brentwood.
Coming in at number two, Kitchen Crate Terminal Avenue in Modesto. This is just a delightful little kitchen remodel in an older home that’s located in a really cool community here in the Modesto area. And what I love about this project is the use of color. Now, it is a smaller galley-style kitchen, but you can see that the green tint to the lower cabinets really offsets the upper cabinets in a gorgeous way. It really looks on par with current trends these days and just has a nice soft, relaxing feel to it. The changing of the placement of the refrigerator and removing the double ovens is also a huge improvement, both aesthetically and functionally, and we really love the simplicity of this design. The bottom color, if you’re curious, is actually a Kelly Moore Appalachian Forest in satin enamel sheen. So there you go, that’s number two, Kitchen Crate Terminal Avenue in Modesto.
Now, the one you’ve all been waiting for, the number one Kitchen Crate of 2020, Kitchen Crate Spyglass Drive in Stockton. The reason this was selected is because of its amazing use of contrasting colors and countertop options. The color change is really beautiful, with a dark navy lower. In fact, that’s actually a Kelly Moore Willow Blue in a satin enamel finish. And the countertops really pop when contrasted against the darker cabinet bottoms. What I really liked about this project is the way that the cabinet hardware, which is a champagne bronze finish, really ties in well with the Delta Intrinsic faucet, also in a champagne bronze. The backsplash is simple and elegant yet beautiful and really brings this entire project together. So there you go, the number one Kitchen Crate of 2020, Kitchen Crate Spyglass Drive in Stockton.
