Bathroom Renovation Day to Day Progress
(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-request add-ons.)
Day 1 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, vanity, shower and bath tile, the bathtub and the flooring.
Days 2 & 3 – The electrical team began the wiring for the new lighting, the new shower valve and drain were installed and the wall near the toilet was re-framed as a new pony wall.
Day 4 – The bathCRATE team was back on site to patch and repair the sheetrock and the shower pan liner was installed.
Day 5 – All of the walls and ceiling in the bathroom were painted. Kelly-Moore Baby Barn Owl with a satin finish was applied to the walls and the ceiling was painted to match the existing color.
Days 6, 7, 8 & 9 – The tile artisans were on site to install tile at the shower. Bedrosians Stone Mountain Alabaster 12″ x 24″ porcelain tiles with an accent of Bedrosians Kismet Serene mosaic tiles were installed on the shower walls while the shower floor received Bedrosians Stone Mountain Taupe 2″ x 2″ hexagon tiles. The shower wall tile was grouted using Laticrete Marble Beige grout and the floor tile was grouted using Laticrete Natural Gray grout.
Days 10 & 11 – The flooring team was on site to install the new flooring. BeauFlor Mystic Oak vinyl plank flooring was installed throughout the bathroom.
Days 12 & 13 – The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the new Home Decorators Highclere vanity, the Pfister Selia widespread faucets, the Pfister Iyla shower system, and the Kohler Highline toilet. The mirrors, accessories and new frameless shower glass were installed and the bathroom was cleaned of all construction debris and dust.
