The Homeowner’s Experience With This Bathroom Remodel, Livermore
What was your favorite part of the bathCRATE process?
Our favorite part of the bathCRATE process was how quickly the team completed quality work. From the design process to the completed product took us only a month. Most of the other contractors we talked to estimated 6+ weeks for the work alone!
What was your favorite part about the bathCRATE team?
The bathCRATE team was professional. Jared, Aaron, and Mark were very respectful and honest. This was a huge deal since they were in our bedroom/bathroom for the better part of three weeks…It made us comfortable to know that we had decent people working in our house.

Day by Day Progress
(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-requested add-ons.)
Here’s how we did it:
Day 1 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, vanity cabinets, shower tile, and bathtub surround tile, and flooring. Toward the end of the day, we created the template for the new quartz countertops, which take a few days to fabricate off-site.
Day 2 – The lighting and soffit above the vanity were removed and the sheetrock was patched.
Day 3 – The electrical team began the wiring for the new vanity lighting. Four six inch LED can lights were placed strategically around the bathroom to optimize the lighting. The new shower and bathtub valves were also installed.
Day 4 – The painting team arrived to paint the walls and the ceiling. Kelly-Moore Silky Green was applied to the walls.
Days 5 & 6 – The tile artisans were on site to install the Arizona Tile Cebu Silver 12″ x 24″ matte tiles with a vertical accent of Arizona Tile Strata Titanium glass tiles on the shower walls and Arizona Tile Cebu Silver 2″ x 2″ matte tiles on the shower floor. This was grouted using Customs Pewter grout. MSI Concerto quartz and Arizona Tile Cebu Silver 12″ x 24″ matte tiles were also installed at the bathtub surround.
Days 7 & 8 – The tile artisans were back on site to install the Arizona Tile Club Grey 6″ x 24″ floor tiles. The flooring was grouted using Customs Chateau grout.
Day 9 – The beautiful new Avanity Modero Espresso Transitional bathroom vanity was installed. Once the vanity was in place, the countertop installation team arrived to install the Kohler Archer sinks in white and the beautiful MSI Concerto quartz countertops with a mitered edge.
Day 10 – The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the plumbing fixtures, mirrors, light fixtures, and accessories. The Pfister Pasadena widespread faucets in brushed nickel were installed at the sinks, a new Pfister Pasadena roman tub faucet was installed at the bathtub, and the shower received a Pfister Avalon handheld shower and trim. The final day of the project also included an array of “touch-up” items: all outlets and switches were replaced, the new Kohler Highline toilet was set, the shower door was installed and the entire project was cleaned, top-to-bottom.
