Just imagine you’re at the grocery store. You pick out your items, mosey to the checkout line, and the clerk rings you up. However, the cash register does not tally your total as your groceries pass through the scanner. Instead, the screen is blank. Upon scanning the final item, the clerk tells you the bill is $300, even.

“Hmmm, that’s odd,” you think to yourself.

So you ask the clerk for a receipt, and they print one out. It says:

“Groceries. All of them. $300.”

It would be hard to trust the final price, would it not?

Sometimes I can’t help but chuckle when customers describe “proposals” they get from the “other guys.” While they aren’t necessarily written on the proverbial back of a napkin, they indeed leave a lot to be desired.

My favorites are the ones that are some form of “Kitchen remodel, including demo, drywall, cabinets, countertops, etc…….. $XX,XXX”

That’s it. That’s the entire description. It’s just so fascinating to me!

We do it a bit differently at kitchen & bath CRATE. Some customers like to see all the details, and others are more focused on the bottom line. Either way, we provide both, because you should be able to dive as deeply or as shallowly into your price breakdown as you wish.

Let’s face it; if you’re going to spend a significant amount of money on a remodel project, you’ll want to know where every dollar and cent is going. It’s your money after all, right?

I’m excited for you as you begin your remodel journey. We’re here to help. Ready to take the next step? Click here to schedule a phone call with our team!

“Okay, it’s Scott Monday with Kitchen and Bath Crate, and today’s pain point I want to talk about is the proverbial ‘I received my quote from my contractor on the back of a napkin,’ right? You’ve heard that before. I’ve heard people getting proposals say something like, ‘You know, kitchen remodel includes demolition, cabinets, and tops, $42,000,’ and that’s literally all the proposal says. How are you supposed to make a decision off of that, right?

What you probably want and what Kitchen and Bath Crate provides is a complete line-by-line itemized proposal for you, and that’s really important because it allows you to see where your hard-earned money is going on the project. Now, some customers, they like to go through every detail of the proposal, which is fantastic. Others just kind of want to get a big picture idea and have those details available if they wish. In fact, let me even show you what one of our proposals looks like.

So, of course, it comes in an orange folder, right? That’s one of our company colors. Inside this proposal, you’ll see it is an extensive document. In this proposal, we have things like a cover letter, a scope of work document, and then page by page of your cost breakdown that’s broken out item by item. So, once again, you can see where your dollars are going on the project.

The back of the proposal contains things like spec sheets and data sheets and those types of things for the different items that we’re specifying at the time of the proposal. But really, it’s the least we can do to provide you with exceptional detail. We take our time to really generate a proposal that you can make a decision off of, and so that, my friends, is what one of the things that Kitchen and Bath Crate does a little bit different than the others. Thanks so much.”
