Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve shown you the two videos from the “Fan Favorite Series” – one for kitchens and one for baths. (If you haven’t seen them, click here for kitchens and here for baths.) Now we have one more video we’d like to show you as we wrap up 2016! It includes some fun extra design elements that were incorporated into some of the CRATE projects this past year.
Let’s get started!
1. River Nine Drive – Laundry Room
This kitchenCRATE project not only turned out beautifully but we updated the cabinets and hardware for the laundry room to match. We didn’t just stop there! We also updated their family room and entryway with additional cabinets so several living areas have a cohesive look. We think it looks great, don’t you?

2. Devereux Court – Marble Straight Set Backsplash
Isn’t this backsplash just lovely? These longer, rectangular marble tile pieces provide this kitchen an accent wall against the white countertops and cabinets. These larger tile squares allow for the beauty of the marble lines to come through without making it look too busy.
More information about this project can be found here.
3. Heidi – Rectangular Vessel Sink with Modern Faucet
Vessel sinks can be a great design feature to add to your bathroom to give it a more modern or contemporary look. They bring height to the countertop and visual interest to the bathroom as a whole. Vessel sinks come in a variety of different materials and colors.
More photos about this custom rectangular vessel sink can be found here.
4. Daystar Drive – Dining Nook Seating
This kitchen was designed to have a breakfast nook off to the side of the kitchen to provide an easy setting for a table. To bring more function and design to this space, dining nook cabinets were added and matched the cabinets and coloring of the kitchen. The additional cabinets also offer extra storage – great for storing seasonal decor. This new dining area is now the perfect setting for a family dinner or game night!

5. Sheridan – Pop of Color!
As much as we love white kitchens, a nice pop color (like this blue) brings character to space. Not only is the backsplash colored but the island has a blue color to match– so fun! We look forward to seeing more color in 2017!

6. Judith – Barn Door
Pantries are great but the pantry doors can be a pain to open and close. Same goes for those shelved alcoves that often end up collecting clutter. Help hide the space in your kitchen with a barn door! Not only does it make your wall look better but the sliding feature helps prevent accidentally smacking people walking by when trying to open the door.

7. Sycamore – Hidden Trench Shower Drain
The shower drain is barely noticeable! We have to zoom in on the area just to show our viewers that the shower drain does indeed exist. Additionally, we love the large floor-to-ceiling tile and the varied honeycomb floor tile. We’d take that shower in a heartbeat!

8. Canyon Green – Arabesque Backsplash Tile
Once again marble tiling has pulled at our heartstrings! These marble arabesque tiles provide a unique but elegant backsplash for the kitchen. These tiles were placed in one section of the kitchen to give it it’s own space and style.

9. Fruitridge Drive – Leathered Copper Sink
This beauty not only looks good but has other useful qualities! Copper sinks will darken over time and coloring will be enhanced. Unlike stainless steel sinks, copper sinks have an antibacterial element in that bacteria will die within four hours of sitting on the surface of the sink. Even though copper sinks cost a pretty penny, there’s really no way to harm the sink as it tolerates any temperature. It’s no wonder why this sink was chosen as one of “2016 Fun Extras”!

10. Sherwood Avenue – Frameless Shower Glass Enclosures
A popular bathroom design trend that we will definitely see more of in 2017 is the frameless shower doors. Without the metal framing, the room isn’t broken up so much with the shower. These glass enclosures make the bathroom feel bigger and look great too. One of the best parts? No more cleaning the grout between the glass door and the framing.

We had a blast helping customers update their kitchens and baths with style and functionality this past year. We are very excited to continue our efforts into 2017, especially given the cool trends that are being announced for this year! Stay tuned for our 2017 trends post– you won’t want to miss it!
