Our most recent featured project embodies everything we love about a gorgeous kitchen remodel. Manteca is home to this 2005 kitchen that used to feature maple cabinets with a failing-finish, tile countertops and backsplash and dated plumbing fixtures and appliances.
The new finishes? Sparkling quartz countertops in two different tones, glass tile backsplash, sleek white cabinets, and all new plumbing fixtures. Yes, this kitchen is pristine and ready for decades of cooking and entertaining!
But don’t just take our word for it. Scroll down for the customer testimonial, project specifications and extensive before and after pictures!
The Homeowner’s Kitchen Remodel Manteca Experience
What was your favorite part of the kitchenCRATE process?
Our favorite part of the kitchenCRATE process was not only the quick turn-around time from start to finish but how beautiful our kitchen turned out! Because there were so many choices kitchenCRATE had to offer, we were able to choose the perfect combination of paint, countertops, sink, and faucet. If it wasn’t for kitchenCRATE I would not have my dream kitchen!
What was your favorite part about the kitchenCRATE team?
Our favorite part of the kitchenCRATE team is how professional and friendly everyone was. The team worked together perfectly and they all seemed to care about us as customers.
Was there anything about the process or project that surprised you? If so, what was it?
What surprised us the most is how organized the kitchenCRATE team was. They explained every detail of the process, beginning with the initial consultation with Scott and continuing until the job was complete. We really appreciate all the effort they made to please us.
Before and After Pictures
Day by Day Progress
(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner-request add-ons)
Here’s how we did it:
Days 1 & 2 – Demo Day! On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the kitchen with building paper, and then went to town removing the appliances, countertop, backsplash, plumbing fixtures, cabinet doors and drawers, and the flooring. We reinforced the plywood sub-tops with steel straps to support the new quartz countertops. Toward the end of the day we created the template for the new quartz countertops, which take a few days to fabricate off-site.
Day 3 – Since all the walls and the ceilings had been protected, our painters began preparing and priming the cabinets. Using a high-grade, oil-based primer, every inch of the kitchen cabinets were caulked, sanded and primed. This is the first (and perhaps most critical) step of creating a durable paint finish.
Day 4 – The painters then began refinishing the kitchen cabinets in this Manteca home and applied two coats of Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy paint in Hush Gray to the thoroughly sanded and primed cabinets. This same priming and painting process was used on the new doors and drawers, which are painted off-site in a climate-controlled paint booth for the highest possible quality.
Day 5 – The painting team was back on site to paint the walls and ceiling. Kelly-Moore Malibu Beige was applied to the walls and Kelly-Moore Swiss Coffee was applied to the ceiling.
Day 6 – The countertop installation team arrived to install the beautiful Blanco Precis Super Single Silgranit sink in Metallic Gray, the Arizona Tile Gentle Gray quartz countertops and Imperial Gray quartz countertops at the island, each with a beveled edge.
Day 7 – The tile backsplash artisans installed the Arizona Tile Skylights Fog 3″ x 6″ glass tiles with an accent strip of Arizona Tile Soho Silver glass and stone blend tiles on the backsplash. The tile backsplash was grouted with Laticrete Sterling Silver grout.
Day 8 – Lastly, the kitchenCRATE team installed the homeowner’s appliances. The transformation then hit the home stretch with the installation of the freshly-painted cabinet doors and drawers. The final day of the project included an array of “touch-up” items: all outlets and switches were replaced, the Grohe Europlus faucet in supersteel was installed and the entire project was cleaned, top-to-bottom.
