When my first child was born in 2006, there were a lot of things running through my head. Perhaps you felt similarly with your first child, first job, or when moving to a new town.

I can sum it up like this: I had no idea what I was doing. (And, if we’re honest, I sometimes still feel this way!)

In fact, I didn’t even know what I didn’t know. And when I did find out that I needed something or had to do something, I then had to figure out how to do it or where to get it. And then, only then, did I realize that what I got, or what I was doing, was probably not right, and it was back to square one. It was like that iconic scene in I Love Lucy where Lucy and Ethel are shoving the candy into their mouths as the conveyor belt increases in speed!

These memories remind me of stories I’ve heard from customers when they describe their previous remodel experiences with the “other guys.”

You see, it’s common for the “other guys” to provide a bid (if you can even call it that) and then look you straight in the eye and say “well, let me know when you have all your stuff picked out.”

What? How is that even possible? How can this “professional” who’s been doing this for DECADES ask his customers to “pick everything out?” How does the customer even know what they need? How does the contractor know the customer will get all the correct materials, fixtures, components, etc.?

And this is precisely why kitchen & bath CRATE is the rare remodeler that not only includes interior design on each project but also creates a multi-page project data sheet, down to the smallest detail, after the design meeting concludes.

And based on our feedback, customers love it. The design phase is an interactive, educational, and even enjoyable process. What’s more exciting than leaning on experts whose sole role is to translate your dream project into real-life selections and specifications? You get to do the fun part while our team does the heavy lifting.

And after all, isn’t that what you’re looking for?

Regardless, perhaps the above process sounds too good to be true. Take a look at how past CRATE customers Jodi & Doug felt about their design process:

And here is a brief clip from Lori, a recent kitchenCRATE Custom homeowner, about her design process:
